Position Title: Computer Systems Trainer

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Computer Systems Trainer reports to the Manager of Training and Support. The mission is to assist operating units and projects teams in the definition of new systems' business requirements and identification of enabling technologies; to support vendor application package and component evaluation and selection process; to assemble, develop, integrate, and install key business and academic administration applications and their components; to provide for on-going enhancement and upkeep on all such installed applications; and to provide consulting, teaching, and documentation to schools, departments, central offices, and individuals in the use of supported applications.Initially, the Computer Systems Trainer will focus his/her efforts in training and supporting current administrative computing system such as SNAP, Core Financials and NSI. This role will expand and evolve as client completes its four-year strategy to replace its legacy administrative computing systems with packages from Oracle and PeopleSoft.Work with business clients, project teams, and other consultants as required to ensure the consulting and training services best support the business communities.Develop and/or enhance classroom training materials as required.Conduct end user classes for administrative systems (monthly and quarterly as required).Provide help desk consulting to diagnose end users problems; work with technical teams to resolve & provide appropriate follow-up to end users.Participate in system testing as required to ensure training and support materials are accurate.Write and/or update associated end user documentation, including job aids and tips sheets.Contribute to and/or maintain specific web site/s and/or page/s that provide additional support to the business users.Develop and implement a proactive approach to end user support. Attend end user forums and other business activities to understand areas where additional training and/or support can enhance end user's effectiveness with the systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of computing and/or information systems and the associated development and installation processes.Demonstrated experience in working with end users to recognize and recommend improvements in work processes and procedures.Excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.Experience in course design and development.Demonstrated ability to teach effectively. Experience in working with business analysts and developers to produce end user documentation and job aids. Ability to work on multiple projects and manage outcomes in conformance with organizational goals and objectives.Ability to produce results within tight deadlines.Knowledge of administrative computing systems such as SNAP, NSI, or CoreFin, is desirable although not required.Knowledge of PeopleSoft's Student Administration or Human Resources systems is desirable although not required BA/BS degree and/or equivalent experience.
