Position Title: PeopleSoft App Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Project will be to replace existing Human Resources, Payroll, and Benefits Administration legacy systems functionality with their respective PeopleSoft modules. The Applications Developers major responsibility is analyzing, developing/modifying, unit testing, and documenting the PeopleSoft Panels, processes, and reports.
The Applications Developer (90%): designs, develops, tests, and documents all required modifications, interfaces, conversions, and reports. Reviews and understands specifications. Ensures development meets project development standards and guidelines. Performs unit testing. May perform integration testing to ensure code/modifications work within the subfunction. Develops project plans, timelines, and resource estimates as the specifications are better understood. Works with the PeopleSoft Applications Manager or the Conversion Manager to coordinate deliverables and timeframes for the project. Escalates issues and priorities to the appropriate Manager. Uses the project Configuration Management process for versions control and code migration. Debugs and troubleshoots panels, processes, batch programs, etc. as needed. Understands the PeopleSoft database tables. Works within the project guidelines for creation/use of temporary tables. Reviews all SQL statements with a view on performance impact. Prepares status reports as requested. The successful candidate will (5%) contribute as an active member of the HR/Payroll Legacy Replacement Project team, and (5%) maintain currency with technical issues especially those relating to PeopleSoft.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires PeopleSoft technical skills including PeopleTools, COBOL, SQR, and Process Scheduler. This position is an individual contributor and will report to the Applications Manage or the Conversion Manager for the project. The successful candidate will have strong developer skills, good oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple priorities, ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of problems, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to move towards a successful implementation. Other qualifications include: -Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, business administration or related field and/or 2-3 years experience in an Information Technology field. Minimum of 2-3 years direct application/conversion development/integration and support of marketplace product experience required. Minimum of 2-3 years direct PeopleSoft application development experience required. -Demonstrated expereise in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQR, COBOL and using an Oracle database required. -Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated abilities to effectively work in teams, participate as a team member, listen, and communicate with clients, team members, and vendors -Good written and verbal communication skills -Analytical ability, including the ability to think systematically and to clearly articulate and effectively advocate sound solutions to complex problems -Ability to work in a complex, diverse office environment with rapidly changing priorities -Ability to work effectively with a minimum of direction -Demonstrated expertise in using a Windows 95 or NT desktop, MS Office products (Word, Excel, Project). At the higher level, the successful candidate is required to have: -3-5 years experience in an Information Technology field. -3-5 years direct application/conversion development/integration and support of marketplace product experience. -3-5 years direct PeopleSoft application development experience. -May be required to mentor more junior programmers.
